And to drive home the point that continued employment is the best solution, here are more excerpts from an article on the UNemployment situation in the U.S. :

    Unemployment's Long-Term Impact

    * Almost 7M workers displaced fr long-term jobs in the last 3 yrs. Many of them expected to face lifetime earning losses of about 19% over the nx 25 yrs

    * The fallout extends to their health, well-being and even the next generation. Research has shown that children whose fathers were adults :(

    * The psychological impact has been brutal as well. Almost 3/4 of the 'devastated' report feeling embarassed or ashamed, as do more than half of the downsized and even 43% of the 'recovering', according to the report by Rutgers' John J. Heldrich Centre for Workforce Development

Delay CPF Rate Cuts, I'm for it too
This is the best hedge against having 'no money for retirement' .... Aunty SS.... stay healthy & continue working!

Currently, worker turns 50 = employer CPF contribution rate cut fr 16% to 12%
worker turns 55 = employer CPF contribution rate cut fr 12% to 9%
worker turns 60 = employer CPF contribution rate cut fr 9% to 6.5%

They are proposing to delay the CPF rate cuts as pp are living and working longer

Kind of why I dislike working for female bosses.

They tend to micro-manage and lose sight of the big picture.

No offense, but there's a reason why there are so many more successful, innovative men than women.

The detail oriented-ness is both a blessing and a curse.

    I believe in overcoming stereotypes!=P

That means no nagging no being jealous no checking boyfriend's phone no stalking no whining no pining no mood swings no PMSing no controlling behavior no heart-to-heart discussions 5 times a day.

Well, maybe I've been a guy passing off as a girl this entire time:eek:

They both have to settle lah, coz they're at the extremes.

But it's true most average built people will not consider dating short guy/taller woman.

    another picture

    22264960 - 19_11_2011.jpg

Miss Hedy Khoo is a towering 1.77m - 1.89m if you factor in the five-inch heels she's so fond of wearing.

Mr Tan Kim Han is 1.57m tall.

No, they're not dating each other. But, in this Sunday's feature on Love & Height in The New Paper on Sunday (Nov 20), these two TNP reporters talk about the short and tall of it.
