The Trump administration is expected to announce Friday a regulation that would prevent federal funding for any groups or clinics, such as Planned Parenthood, that perform abortions or guide patients on where to get one, according to media reports. The policy would revert to one put in place by the administration of former President Ronald Reagan in 1988, that stipulates abortion services are separate from other family planning operations. Alex M. Azar II, the secretary of Health and Human Services, has been under pressure by conservatives and some Republican lawmakers to prevent abortions being carried out at places that get Title X federal family planning money.
